Black Mouth Curs have short coats, either coarse or fine, and a combination of the two types may appear in the same litter. The color of the muzzle is black, tan or the same color as the coat, with black preferred and any other color considered a fault. Small amounts of white on the toes, tail and chest are considered acceptable, but none on the neck. The ears are medium sized and hanging and may either be black or the same color as the coat.
